Despite playing all day in a heavy downpour, the Sierra College beach volleyball team posted two more home victories and remains unbeaten in Big 8 Conference play at 4-0.

The Wolverines hosted Marin and Delta on Friday, April 6 and were perfect against both teams, winning each dual 5-0.

"Delta and Marin are first-year programs and will continue to improve as they spend more time in the sand," said Sierra head coach Alanna Whitnack. "We are so happy they have added programs in the north."

Sara Schell and Savanah Schoeder won their 1s matchup 21-6, 21-18 (Delta) and 21-7, 21-13 (Marin), and 2s Meghan Merlino and Kalala Strickland posted 21-9, 21-10 (Marin) and 25-23, 25-15 (Delta). Maddy Rowland and Kylie Shinn (3s) won 21-3, 21-18 (Delta) and 21-5, 21-5 (Marin) and 4s Grace Lemmo and Kapri Pelle had 21-7, 21-4 (Marin) and 21-15, 21-17 (Delta) victories.

Brittany Boerstra and Bella Orteza rounded out the scoring for Sierra with 21-9, 21-17 over Delta and 21-0, 21-0 forfeit wins against Marin.

"We were glad to control both duals," said Whitnack. "But they will be tougher down the road and we have to continue to learn and decrease our errors in less than perfect conditions."

Saturday, April 14 Sierra hosts Gavilan and University of San Francisco. Matches begin at 11 am.
