Five Wolverine pairs qualified for Friday's Big 8 Pairs Championship

All five Wolverine pairs qualified for Friday's Big 8 Pairs Championship and 3 qualified for the regional championships next week. Our 1's pair of Platt and Deter qualified first and overcame some struggles to finish 7th. Our 3's pair of Guerrero and Stumbo fought through several elimination rounds in the consolation bracket to nab the 13th qualifying position.
The 2's pair of Skinner and Black took the day and played some of their best volleyball to date to end up winning the Big 8 title, the first since 2022 and the 4th in program history. The new championship format was only 1-game to 21 and Skinner and Black dominated American River College's 1's pair 21-7.
The CCCAA Regional Team Championships will be held next week at Cosumnes River College on May 2-3.
