Sierra Softball Goes to Work Against Modesto

The Sierra College softball team blasted 14 hits on its way to a methodical 8-1 win over visiting Modesto Junior College Tuesday afternoon.

Mikea Lewis lined a three-run homer to center in the second, McKenna Anderson was 2-3 with a pair of RBI, Jenna Patterson went 2-3 with two runs scored, and Kiara Thomas roped a triple to left in the sixth.

Sigrid Holtrop struck out three and scattered six hits for her 14th win in the circle. The Wolverines (24-4, 11-2 Big 8) travel to Cosumnes River College (21-7, 9-5) Saturday (4/1) for an important doubleheader with the Hawks. Game times are noon and 2:00pm.
