The Sierra College softball team took care of business against rival American River College with an efficient 5-0 and 10-2 sweep of the Beavers Friday in Rocklin. Seven different players accounted for the seven Wolverine hits in the 5-0 opener.

Sierra (29-5, 16-3 Big 8) broke things open with a three-run fourth that included RBI singles from Syrina Vasquez and Mikea Lewis. Sigrid Holtrop knocked in the game's first run with single in the second and held the Beavers (14-15, 5-13) to a single hit, striking out four, in six innings of work in the circle. Megan Lockhart picked up the save.

Rylie Carlier's three-run HR, her 10th of the season, capped an eight-run third to give Sierra a 10-0 lead in game two. Vasquez was 3-3 with two RBI and Kaone Hunter, making her first appearance of the year in the circle, hurled four hitless innings to pick up the win. The wins kept the Wolverines a game back of league-leading San Joaquin Delta.
