Wolverines cruise into Super Regionals

After a perfect April, the Sierra College softball team has continued its strong run into the most important month of the season - May.

Wolverines head coach Darci Brownell commented in March that playing well in April was important. Her team, affectionately known as the Dirty Dozen, did just that, posting a 9-0 record and winning the Big 8 Conference.

The Wolverines have carried that momentum into the first round of the CCCAA Regional Playoffs, knocking off West Valley 8-0 on May 4 and 10-0 on May 5.

Next up for Sierra is a three-game home series against College of the Sequoias in CCCAA Super Regionals. Game one is Friday, May 11 at 2pm.

Amaryssa Medina got the Wolverines going in game one against West Valley, pitching six innings and allowing just one hit and striking out six. She helped herself out at the plate too, going 3 for 3 with a home run and five runs batted in to pace the offense.

In game two, Holly Brennan threw five innings and allowed just one hit. Daniella Toschi went 2 for 2 with five runs batted in and Lexi DeLozier was 2 for 4 with an RBI. Hannah Slaight scored three runs.
