Cortney has been on the Wolverine coaching staff since August 2009. She currently serves as the pitching coach and also works with catchers and infielders. The former catcher/corner ended her playing career with the 2009 Wolverine Softball team, finishing second in the state. Prior to her intercollegiate career, Cortney spent three years coaching at Colfax High School. She also volunteered as Co-Assistant Commissioner of the NorCal Girls Fastpitch board for six years, running the Winterball program. During her time at Sierra, Cortney coached her daughters in the local recreational league and in the Foothill Gold organization.
In addition to her coaching role at Sierra, Cortney is also the Supervisor of Residence Housing at Sierra College.
Cortney is a Colfax High School and Sierra College Alumni. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences from Arizona State University and her Masters of Science in Kinesiology from California Baptist University.
