Sierra Never Stops

Sierra College 2024 Beach Preview

Rain or shine Sierra College is ready for their season opener this Friday vs. Santa Barbara City and Bakersfield.  The Wolverines have a balanced squad of veterans and fresh faces working together to make for experienced, explosive pairs itching to attack the 2024 season.

Our returns include blockers Alexis Boccia and Kaitlyn Shilling.  Both played roles in the 3’s and 4’s in the 2023 season.  Boccia, a captain, is a solid blocker and a dynamic attacker.  Shilling brings speed and versatility to her pair and both look to compete for the top spots in the ladder. Our returning defenders are small but mighty! Sophomores Alexis Adebodun and Molly Folwer, team captains, are relentless defenders and students of the game.  They make their partners better every day and will look to lead our defender core with their tenaciousness and drive.

Our newcomers are out of the gates and excited to learn and push themselves as well.   Red-shirt freshmen, Grace Rodriguez, one of our fiercest competitors, looks to bring energy and fight to her pairing.  Paige Skinner’s all-around game is making her impossible to keep out of the top of the ladder.  Sofia Guerrero, Jordyn Deter, Angela Poshlenuzyy, and Ally Stumbo round out our defender core and add speed and ball handling skills to their partnerships.

Our newcomers taking on the blocker roles in the ladder are Taylor Stolz, Lila Jarvis, Wyievee Binda, and Sonja Ivankay.  All new to the beach game, these athletes are learning quickly and will be fun to watch as the season progresses.  They make the game exciting with their athleticism and competitive spirits.

Back-to-Back Big 8 Champions!

Sierra College beach volleyball finished the 2019 season by defending their 2018 Big 8 Conference title, going Back-to-Back for the championship. In addition, Sierra has been to the state championships in both team and pairs competition after just four years as a program.

Since it's inception in 2016, Sierra Beach Volleyball has solidified itself as a premier junior college beach program in the state of California.  Our student-athlete experience combined with our top-notch facilities and coaching makes our program competitive at the highest levels from year to year.
