Sierra College Women's Soccer takes down Modesto 5-0 in round one of the 2021 Big 8 Conference tournament last Friday in Rocklin. The Wolverines posted 5 goals, including back to back goals in the second half from Alyssa Luna.
Sierra's first goal came just over 20 minutes in, scored by Grace Roberts from Alyssa Granno. Just eight minutes later Alyssa Najarro scored for the Wolverines, assisted by Emma Scott. Closing out the first half, Lilliann Vogt scored the third Sierra goal in the 35th minute, assisted by Zitali Herrera.
In the second, it was two goal in two minutes for Alyssa Luna, who scored in the 60th and 62nd minutes, assisted by Emily Hester and Sheare Ford Barrera respectively. The Wolverines held off the Pirates with impressive defense, including a split game from keepers Gisselle Fernandez Quintero (45:01) and Lindsay Lucas (44:59).
Sierra will host Folsom Lake College in round two of the 2021 Big 8 Conference Championships this Tuesday, November 9 at 3:00pm.
