Women's Swimming and Diving 3peat as Big 8 Champs!
The Sierra College Wolverines dug down deep, and pulled off a Conference first by 3-Peating as Big 8 Conference Swimming and Diving Champions!! Knowing that their superior depth would be the deciding factor in the meet, all 17 swimmers and 3 divers scored in the meet as the Wolverines distanced themselves from the rest of the field.
Leading the way for the Wolverines was Conference Co-Swimmer of the Year Lauren Ostrander and Sophomore Diver of the Year Melina Milburn. Both ladies returning from last year's State Champion Swimming and Diving Team, used their experience to help extend the Wolverines streak of Conference Championships to 3 in a row!! Melina dominated in winning both the 1M and 3M events at the Conference competition and established herself as the diver to beat entering next week's State Championships at De Anza College. Lauren pulled off a rare feat by winning all 3 of her individual events, (50 Free, 100 Free, and 100 Butterfly) to be named Co-Swimmer of the Year with Santa Rosa's Taylor Sargis. The Wolverines compete next week at the State Swimming and Diving Championships at De Anza College in Cupertino.
