Sierra Never Stops

Wolverines Dominate First Meet of the Season

The Sierra College Women’s Swim and Dive team competed in their first meet of the season, The NorCal Relays, at Santa Rosa Junior College on February 3rd. The Wolverines faced opponents from Santa Rosa Junior College, Allan Hancock College, American River College, Las Positas College, and San Joaquin Delta College during this 6-team event.

In a meet featuring both usual and unusual relays, the Wolverines outscored second-place American River College, 124-98 points, to capture the Invitational Title.

The Wolverines achieved six first-place finishes out of nine events and finished in the Top 3 in the remaining events. Notable first-place finishes included the 200 Medley Relay team of Leah Moriones, Morgan Forkum, Maile Adao, and Ally Boudreaux, who posted a winning time of 1:56.64, finishing 16 seconds ahead of the second-place team.

While some first-place finishes were by a larger margin, close finishes also contributed to their win. The Wolverines’ 400 Freestyle Relay team, consisting of Noe Gardner, Hailey Hensley, Hannah Cockcroft, and Ally Boudreaux, edged out the competition with a first-place time of 3:52.25.

For the first meet of the season, the Wolverines showcased impressive relay splits and times.

The Wolverines will travel to Mount San Antonio College in Walnut, California, on February 29 to compete in a dual meet with the Mounties on Thursday night and the Mt. SAC Invitational Meet on March 1 & 2.
