Coming into the day Sierra had to defeat Delta College and the College of the Redwoods to have its share of the Championship and did not disappoint. The first match of the day was a hard fought battle against Delta with Sierra coming away with a deceptive 5-0 win. Close wins in the 4's and 5's positions gave Sierra the 2-0 lead at the turn. Both had slow starts but both Roberts and Gunter at the 5's and Cook and Almond turned up the heat in the 2nd and 3rd sets of their matches to put their team ahead. The dual was decided at the 2's with a sweep by Shively and Pelle.

The sophomore class was honored before the College of the Redwoods match. Of the six sophomores, Gabby Roberts, Maddy Meteer, Kapri Pelle, Alex Cook, and Meghan Merlino will leave Sierra College with 2 Big 8 Indoor Championships as well as 2 Big 8 Beach Championships. With eyes on the Nor Cal regionals they took care of Redwoods and locked up the conference co-championship with a quick dispatch of Redwoods and a 5-0 win.

The team received the #2 seed in the North and a regional playoff host. Sierra takes on Feather River College and Foothill on Wednesday, May 1st in a winner takes all to go to the State Championship in Chula Vista, CA on May 8th. Sierra takes on Feather River College at 1 pm and Foothill College at 5 pm.
