Sierra Football improved to 4-2, adding a fourth win to their streak by knocking off previously undefeated Shasta 44-21 last Saturday in Rocklin. The Wolverine team was firing on all cylinders, with outstanding performances from offense, defense and special teams. Sierra rides their four game win streak into this Saturday's (October 26) game at American River, kickoff scheduled for 1:00pm.

Saturday's game saw six touchdowns scored by six different Wolverine players, with the first of the game received by Graylon Lindsey from a 49-yard touchdown pass from Preston Eklund. Shasta responded however, tying things up 7-7 after the first. Sierra started to make headway in the second, when Joshua Farr passed for 30 years to Matt Smart for Sierra's second TD of the game. Sierra wasn't done scoring before halftime though, as Austin Baze returned an intercepted Shatsa ball 45 yards to score yet another TD for the Wolverines. With a good kick, Sierra now led 20-7.

7:13 into the third, Sierra world add three more with a successful field goal, and Sierra finished the 3rd quarter with a 23-7 lead. In the fourth, Christian Simmons rushed for a 3 yard touchdown, following several additional rushing yards and a 24 yard pass, starting at Shasta's 36. Sierra was then able to intercept the Shasta ball yet again, with Trevion Shadrick-Harris returning the 35 yard interception for another Wolverine touchdown.

With Sierra up 37-7, Shasta saw some more scoring action when the Knights were able to rush 3 yards for a touchdown of their own, before Sierra's James Sweet caught a 15 yard touchdown pass from Qyntyn Pilcher to go up 44-14 over the Knights.

One more touchdown pass from Shasta added seven points to the Knight's total, making for a score of 44-21 as the final buzzer sounded and Sierra handed Shasta their first loss of 2019.

The Wolverines, now 4-2 overall, head to American River this Saturday at 1:00pm for a big fight against the Beavers.
