The undefeated Sierra College Women's Tennis team last Friday captured the 2019 Big 8 Conference North Division Championship with their 5-1 (with 3 games not played due to rain) win over rival American River College. The Wolverines, who are 9-0 overall, were helmed by first-year head coach Sasha Macktinger, who has led the Sierra squad to their first Big 8 title since 2013.

Sierra was dominant right from the first match of the season, going 26-1 in their first three contests. Their closest match of league play was a March 5 affair at American River which saw Sierra take the 6-3 victory. Sierra's 2019 Big 8 - North campaign also included a 9-0 blanking of 2019 conference runner-up Solano College, played on March 8.

Sierra looks to continue their stellar season as the conference tournament kicks off on April 4 at Folsom Lake College.
